PPSU
PPSU is a black amorphous thermoplastic with high performance and better chemical and impact resistance than polysulphone and polyetherimide. PPSU also has superior resistance to hydrolysis, measured in steam sterilisation cycles up to failure, making it especially suitable for applications requiring repeated steam sterilisation.
Main features
- Maximum permissible operating temperature in high air [180 °C en continu]
- Good chemical resistance and excellent resistance to hydrolysis [convient pour stérilisation répétée à la vapeur]
- High rigidity over a wide temperature range
- Very high impact resistance
- Physiological inertia [approprié pour contact alimentaire]
- High dimensional stability
- Very good resistance to high-energy radiation [rayons gamma et rayons X]
- Good dielectric and electrical insulation properties
Applications
PPSU is increasingly used in the manufacture of sterilisation trays, dental and surgical instrument handles and liquid handling systems. With a very high bending temperature under load [205 °C conformément à ISO 75 / méthode A]PPSU is suitable for use in electronic assembly equipment and devices that have to withstand soldering temperatures.
